SenangStart Actions is a declarative UI framework for building interactive interfaces with HTML attributes instead of imperative JavaScript. It provides reactive data binding, so the DOM updates automatically when application data changes. This removes the need for manual DOM manipulation.
The framework requires no build step. You include the script and declare behavior directly in markup. This keeps prototypes and small applications lightweight and readable.
Key Characteristics
No build step. There is no bundler, transpiler, or configuration file. Add a script tag from a CDN and begin using the framework.
Declarative markup. Behavior is defined in HTML attributes. The following example implements a counter:
<div ss-data="{ count: 0 }">
<button ss-on:click="count--">-</button>
<span ss-text="count"></span>
<button ss-on:click="count++">+</button>
</div>
Directives such as ss-data, ss-text, ss-on, ss-if, and ss-model cover state, reactivity, events, conditionals, and two-way binding.
Reactive updates. When application data changes, the framework updates the DOM. You define the state once, and SenangStart Actions handles the updates.
Intended Use
SenangStart Actions is intended for developers who need a low-ceremony way to add reactivity to static pages or prototypes without adopting a full build pipeline. It also fits teams using the SenangStart ecosystem because styling, icons, and behavior follow consistent conventions.
The attribute-based syntax is also suitable for AI-assisted workflows. Assistants can read and generate the markup without interpreting complex scripting logic. The framework includes a context file optimized for LLMs.
Getting Started
The simplest setup uses the full bundle from a CDN:
<script src="https://unpkg.com/@bookklik/senangstart-actions"></script>
You can then review the directives and build a reactive component. For production applications where bundle size matters, a modular bundle allows you to load only the directives you need.
